    Fear can be totally paralyzing and real confrontation is very chaotic in nature. In an erratic attack situation there are no real constants on which you can rely. If you are attacked your heart will be pounding and hyperventilation will threaten to take your breath away. Panic will definitely impair your decision making process. You’ll become confused and the result of your hesitation may end up costing you very dearly…
   Fear management is the ability to empower yourself with the right kind of mental, emotional and physical training. At Pittsburgh Fight Club you can build your confidence and prepare yourself emotionally to deal with fear and prepare for tactical action. You can start by learning how to use your natural adrenaline dump. This is your sympathetic nervous system’s “fight or flight” reflex action. Honing this response can definitely improve your chances of survival. This will increase your efficiency and may give you more time to escape and get away unharmed.
  1. The head flinch
    The arms fold to form an X shield to protect the throat, eyes, and brain.
  2. The groin flinch
    The hips pull back as arm form an X and then push away to protect the abdomen and groin.
  • Finger jab to the eyes
  • Slap to the groin
  • Back chop to the throat
  • Cupping the ears
  • Head butt to the face
  • Palm strike to the chin
  • Scoop kick the groin
  • Clinch knee and elbow
  • Shin kick to the femoral nerve in the leg
  • Triangle strangle hold to the throat

    8. Attacks – defending the haymaker, the grab, shove, or the tackle
    9. Intention – learn to recognize body language and mood
    10. Fitness – the more physically fit you are the better your chances
    11. Contact – becoming accustomed to tactile sensitivity and hard impact
    12. The Rules – recognize there are no rules!
